We understand that having strangers in your house is not always a comfortable feeling, and that is why my team and I strive to build a strong relationship with our customers, so that we may understand their needs and deliver on them. We’ll make the first move by telling you all about who we are, and where we come from.
Peter is a first generation Canadian whose parents immigrated to Canada/United States in the late 70’s/early 80’s from Vietnam to avoid persecution under Communist rule. His mom, Kim, and her family were part of the boat people who fled Vietnam after Saigon fell in 1975. Tue, his dad, left Vietnam in 1984 with his family, 9 years into communist rule, to escape the mess that the communist government had turned the country into. Mom is a full time cardiac sonographer, and dad, when he was still alive, was an electrical engineer at Dy 4 Systems in Ottawa. Peter was born and raised in Ottawa for 15 years, lived in Peterborough for 3 years, and now lives and works full time in Hamilton, while completing a degree in Political Science at McMaster University. The oldest brother of 3, he tries to make his mom proud and be a good role model for his two younger siblings, Phillip and Natalie. He is an avid cook and traveller at heart, always on the look for his next adventure. He also loves competing in business case competitions and being involved in his community. As part of a class, he is working with the Beasley Neighborhood Association to bring to life the Hamilton Community Land Trust project, Hamilton’s first community land trust, whose mission is to repurpose abandoned land throughout downtown to improve overall community living experience.
With regards to painting, if you had met Peter 5 years ago, he wouldn’t be able to tell you what a paintbrush was, or how to use it! That all changed when he ran a student painting franchise with one of the largest student painting companies in Canada for 2 consecutive years. Over the last 3 years, he has been honing his skills, building his name, and gathering the best and brightest students in preparation for launching the greatest student painting operation the Golden Horseshoe has ever seen.
Valeed immigrated to Canada when he was 10 years old with his family to pursue a brighter future for himself. His family since then has returned back to Pakistan, but he has remained here, pursueing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at McMaster and working diligently to pay for school and living expenses. He has been painting for 5 years (he also had his beginning with a large student painting company as well.) He is the active crew chief in my absence and second in charge.
Bradley is one of the most skilled painters I know, and has been in the trade for 6 years. His time in the business belies his abilities as a craftsman; his acute eye for detail and willingness to do whatever it takes to not only meet, but exceed the clients expectations, make him a highly sought after painter. He has taught me much of what I know, and I am proud to have a great working relationship with him. He owns a $2000 professional sprayer, and is highly proficient with it. While he has his own business in Oakville, we enjoy a strong friendship, and help each other out frequently on jobs.
